Why We Aren’t Mad At Tarantulas

You can’t judge everything by size. Take tarantula’s for instance. They are HUGE in spider size and really hairy, and when scared they tend to raise their front legs to make themselves look bigger, and scarier. Scary move right? I’m secretly convinced Tarantula’s have encouraged this reputation, and Hollywood has been more than happy to lend a helping hand in that department. In reality, tarantulas are the ultimate Introvert. They just want to be left alone in their silken little hole to live their lives eating bugs in privacy. They don’t want to fight, they don’t want to eat you or even bite you. Unless you are a bug, then that’s a different story.

Tarantulas can bite if they feel threatened, and their bites will hurt, but their venom is less toxic than bee venom. If you see a Tarantula the best thing to do is to just leave it alone. If you do that, then they will leave you alone as well.

Of course we understand if you don’t want to look at any tarantula’s that may be hanging around your home, and we have been known to relocate a tarantula or two.
