June 14, 2017

Tick Info
Ticks cannot jump or fly, but they do climb shrubs and grasses in order to come into contact with humans or other animals. They can spread diseases. Common tick-borne diseases are Limes disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Tularemia, Ehrlichiosis, Relapsing fever, Colorado tick fever. Diseases can vary depending on where you live. Many reports of Limes disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever have been recorded in Oklahoma.

Prevention
When going into tick-infested areas, wear long sleeves and pants and try to avoid any tall grasses or shrubs. Use insect repellent before going out, and check yourself and pets for ticks imminently after returning. Consider contacting one of our pest management professionals for advice or a free estimate.
